Our guides will show you “the City of the Alps” – join us for an interesting tour through Thun with the innovative Segway!
From the Schulhausstrasse the route follows the river Aare to the Castle Schadau. In the middle of the picturesque park our guides tell you worth knowing stories about this 170 year old, architecturally unique building. Meanwhile you enjoy the fantastic view on the Lake Thun and the surrounded mountains.
Afterwards the journey continues to the quarter of Seefeld back to the centre of Thun. After a short tour through the shopping island Bälliz we pass the bridge and drive to Mühleplatz. In the past this was a place where the citizen grinded flour and today it is one of the most attractive venues for a summer drink.
The tour continues along the Aarequai with a wonderful view on the lake and the green environment. Once arrived at the end of the Aarequai we drive uphill towards Hünibach. The Segway balances you effortlessly up the hill. On the route you discover beautiful villas, traditional chalet as well as the impressive Dragon Houses.
Then we drive back to the city centre and reach the Castle Hill after a short slope. The Castle of Thun, the landmark of the city, was built in 1190 by Duke Berchtold V of Zähringen and today it is a famous tourist attraction. In front of the Castle Church you enjoy a marvellous view on the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
Our tour leads us in the Obere Hauptgasse, the old city of Thun. The historic footpath, which characterizes this alley, is a popular photo motive for architecture enthusiastic persons. After a gently drive through the alley we arrive at the town hall place.
Our journey continues along the Aare to the traditional river bath Schwäbis. Through the former quarter Selve, which was a popular place to go out in Thun, we return to the train station and finally to our starting point after an exciting trip of 2.5 hours.
